Business Administrator &
Marketing Specialist

Baja Golden Dates is a small business specializing in the production and wholesale of organic Medjool dates, primarily serving the Baja California region, with recent expansion into Barcelona, Spain. 

Baja Golden Dates has ambitious plans to expand by utilizing excess date inventory to produce date syrup and create date bars, all in line with the company’s commitment to wellness and health by avoiding refined sugars and artificial ingredients.

During my internship, I was pleased to contribute to these initiatives, as their goals and values closely align with my own. I offered several recommendations, which are outlined in the following section and performed management responsibilities.

1 / Social Media Marketing

I developed a mock version of a revamped Instagram feed, suggesting a targeted approach for the bilingual market. My recommendations included featuring organic posts showcasing Medjool dates, date palm trees, informational reads of the health benefits of eating dates, and creative ways to incorporate dates into recipes and snacks.

When the syrup and date bars are launched, it would be strategic to implement these drafts and begin sharing the curated content.

I organized and maintained documents and business licenses, ensuring regulatory compliance and overseeing office management to support the smooth operation of Baja Golden Dates. I managed email correspondence to facilitate effective communication within the company and with external partners.

During my time studying at the University, I worked in the administrative office and supported the admissions office. 

Some of my responsibilities included: managing inbound calls, providing exceptional customer service, and fostering long-term relationships. This role helped me exhibit strong cross-functional skills as as well as enhance my ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. I also managed and organized company files to maintain accurate records, improving the office's efficiency and updated company files to maintain accurate record keeping.  I am confident that the skills and experience I gained will be invaluable to my professional growth and development.

Nordstrom Retail Management Intern

June 2023 - August 2023

Summer Internship

During this 10 week program I:

Cross referenced inventory and sales data to cascade to senior management in order to provide a snapshot of daily traffic in store.
Collaborated with fellow interns to provide senior management with insight on store layout, consumer preferences, and opportunities for efficiency.
Gained hands-on knowledge in key departments, including Visual Merchandising, Inventory Control, Fulfillment, Asset Protection, and Customer Experience through visits to supply centers and team offices.
Executed tasks within ecommerce and in-person business channels in order to optimize everyday workflow and increase sales across multiple departments.
Attained profound understanding of Nordstrom's sales strategies and business dynamics, fostering a comprehensive grasp of the retail industry.

Internship during my time abroad in Madrid, Spain

During my semester abroad I conducted comprehensive market analysis by spearheading optimal marketing channels for the successful launch of the school’s summer camp program.
Delivered a compelling presentation to school leadership showcasing strategic findings and proposing actionable recommendations.


Created and maintained Excel database containing marketing research of 80 similar products to inform promotional strategies.

Volunteer Experience at
AMA Marketing Association

During my four years at the University of San Diego, I was an active member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), a prominent marketing club on campus.

I had the privilege of volunteering at the welcoming cocktail event held at the prestigious Mingei Museum, where I had the opportunity to engage with attendees eagerly anticipating the subsequent conference on our campus.

Attending the AMA San Diego's Art of Marketing Conference, hosted at the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business, was a highlight of my college experience.
